Tree work out of Mount Holly
Most of the work around here starts with a pine. Loblollies grow fast and straight. They get tall before anybody's really watching, and a row of them planted along a property line ends up with small root plates sitting in wet clay. Then a summer storm comes through with a straight wind behind it. Tops snap. Or the whole plate lifts and the tree leans into the next one over.
Hardwoods fail slower, and they tell you first. A willow oak can be older than the house it shades, so by the time deadwood starts hitting the driveway every August, that tree's been talking for years. Dead limbs hung up in the crown. A seam running down the trunk. Mushrooms at the base in the fall, bark coming off in plates. That's what we're reading when we walk a property, before anybody says a number out loud.
We're based in Mount Holly, and most of what we do is a short run from it: Belmont, Gastonia, then across the river into Charlotte, Huntersville, Cornelius, Davidson. We take trees out. We prune, hedge, grind stumps, clear lots, clean up after storms. Then there's the outdoor work that usually follows, like grading, drainage, retaining walls, junk hauled off. Same crew for all of it, so there's nobody else for you to chase.

Tall pine gone clean
A pine over a back yard comes out from the top down, and the ground crew clears each piece before the next one lands.

Why people call us back
Five stars on all 43 Google reviews
Every review on the profile is a five star review. Read them and the same two things keep coming up, the cleanup and a fair price.
A fair price, agreed before we start
You get the number before anybody pulls a saw out. Fair cost is what people mention on Google more than anything except the trimming.
Tight removals taken down in sections
Over a garage roof or a pool, the tree comes out piece by piece on a rope. Nothing drops that we can't steer.
The yard is raked before we leave
Brush goes through the chipper. Wood gets stacked where you point. Needles raked out, drive blown off. You should be able to tell what we did by the tree that's gone.
Free estimates, online or in your yard
Send photos and we'll start on a number without driving out. Or we come walk it with you. Either way it's free.
Based in Mount Holly, a short run
Belmont, Gastonia, Charlotte, the Lake Norman towns, all close to the shop. Being local is why coming back to look at something twice isn't a problem.
How a job actually runs
Tell us what the tree's doing. A picture or two from different angles helps.
We look at the lean, the deadwood, what's under the drop zone, how a machine gets into the back yard.
You get a price for the work as described, with the stump and the haul off listed on their own so you can see what each one adds.
We take it down. Grind what you asked us to grind, rake the ground, haul the brush off your property.

Eduardo with Sierra Tree Care was amazing! We had a very large dead white oak tree that needed removal. It was an extremely difficult removal with every piece cut and lowered with care to not damage the garage, pool or shed. The team work was phenomenal! I couldn't recommend more highly.
Fantastic group of people. These guys removed 21 pines and grind the stumps in 3 days. I can’t say enough good things about Eduardo and his staff! They really are hardworking and I recommend them for anyone to try. I know they are the ones I will call next time I need tree work!!!
Sierra Tree Care did an amazing job at our church. They pruned tree limbs over our playground, cut down a tree that was leaning, and ground down the stump as well. Very timely and communicated well! Cleaned up after service, would recommend highly!
Sierra Tree Care Service, Edwardo did a fantastic job at my home today, cutting down about 7 Tree's, & his cleanup was gteat. Very much a gentleman and his cost was very fair!! I would highly recommend his service to anyone who wants to deal with a honest, hardworking man!! Give him a call without hesitation.
We had a couple of trees that had fallen after a storm. Ed was very responsive and came by to give us an estimate, then worked with us to quickly get the tree removed! He is nice, honest and knowledgeable about trees. We have used him to cut down multiple trees since then and we will continue to use him.
Sierra tree care is the best experience I have had in Charlotte! They are professional, and take great care while doing work! I will never go with another tree company! Living in south Charlotte trees will always be something we need to take care of and Sierra Tree care is now my to go to!

Closer than most people think. We hardly ever fell a tree whole in a back yard. The trunk gets climbed and taken in sections, and limbs come down on a rope instead of dropping free. If there's a pool under it, or a shed, or a service line, say so when you call so we bring the rigging for it.
Only if you want it done. Grinding is a separate machine and another trip into the yard, so it's priced on its own and you decide. We go below grade so you can put soil and seed over the top. The chips stay for you or they go with us.
Brush goes through the chipper and off your property. Wood we can cut to stove length and stack where you point. Or it loads out with everything else. Just tell us before we start, because moving it twice is no fun for anybody.
Topping doesn't save a pine. Cut the leader out and you leave a wound the tree can't close, and the weak regrowth that shoots up is what snaps in the next storm. If it's too close to the roof, the honest answer is usually removal. We'll tell you that instead of selling you a trim that buys one season.
Keep everybody away from it, and look up before you look at the trunk. A fallen tree is still loaded. Limbs bent under tension, a root plate that can drop back into its hole the second the weight comes off. If any of it is touching a power line, call the utility before you call us.
Some marks are honest. A grinder and a loaded truck are heavy. We keep machines on the drive where we can, and we put mats or plywood down on soft ground. Show us where the irrigation heads and septic lids sit and we'll work around them. Wet clay is the worst of it, and on a soaked yard we'd rather move the day than leave ruts across it.
